Lauren Gardner currently serves as the Law Director for the City of Geneva.  In this capacity, Mrs. Gardner is dedicated to ensuring compliance with all civil and criminal law. Mrs. Gardner acts as the City Prosecutor, conducting trials and hearings to prosecute those accused of misdemeanor offenses committed in the City of Geneva and against Geneva's citizens under the Codified Ordinances of the City of Geneva. These crimes can include traffic offenses, such as Driving Under the influence (DUI), or personal crimes against individuals, such as Domestic Violence and Assault. She provides additional guidance to police officers to ensure that their official actions are deemed legally justifiable, and their investigative findings may be appropriately presented in court.

As City Solicitor, Mrs. Gardner advises City Council and the City Manager on all civil legal matters. Mrs. Gardner is responsible for interpreting the City Charter and analyzing its application together with the United States and Ohio State Constitution, and drafting new ordinances to accomplish ongoing City goals. When advising the City on new laws, Mrs. Gardner often meets with Geneva's citizens to learn about their concerns. Mrs. Gardner also advises the City on contract, labor, environmental and other legal issues.
